CanExport has reached an impressive milestone: 500 Canadian small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) have been approved for funding since the program started this year.

Launched in January 2016 by the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of International Trade, and the Honourable Bardish Chagger, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Minister of Small Business and Tourism, CanExport provides financial support to help Canadian SMEs develop new international markets and increase their contribution to Canada’s economy.

To date, successful applicants have been supported in a broad range of endeavours in all regions of the globe-from innovative technology for monitoring water quality in India to Canadian jewellery accessing the Chinese market to customized information technology solutions and products for service providers in Finland.

Canadian SMEs planning or considering upcoming international business development activities in new markets are encouraged to apply for CanExport funding.
